now that got my laughing Nate. Honored might have been a better word choice but as sunil points out master of typos anyways.

Yep Dave looking more like a grandpa with the gray beard, glad you could join the club.

Here is the crayfish pic. I guess not really "fishing" but we did catch it. http://lakework.com/photo_gallery/galler...attack.jpg.html

That's a big mudbug there.

I was thinking the other day, Greg, that it was time to start another mass PM for you.

I caught this fish along with 8 others in the Western basin of Lake Erie. Terrible weather and miserable fishing for everyone except myself, so I guess it could've been just beginners luck. It was my first charter casting for "eyes". i've killed them trolling, but there's something to pulling a big walleye out of 9' of water that's just amazing.

This one was caught on a 3/4 ounce Chartreuse Erie Dearie w/ nightcrawler trailer. We were fishing light tackle, 4lb. test.

My new Fishin’ buddy William – first cast on the new Bug Launcher kid’s fly rod – first fish on a “Weenie” fly.

I had forgotten how much fun it is to teach a kid how to fish - had a blast this morning.
Quick learner on fly-casting – I see a fly flinger in the future.

Well, I am here at my fiancee's parent's house in south eastern NC. They live in a golf course community with lots of golf course ponds. I couldn't help myself and had to see what was in them...

In about an hour of fishing I ended up catching about 2 dozen BG, 1 nice bass and 6 PS. I was surprised by the PS. You think of them as being a northern cold water fish but the water temp was WARM! They were very pretty fish though. No real whoppers, but for being an unmanaged pond, they weren't bad... Here are a few of the fish.

For you CNBG aficionados, are these BG CN? They certainly have the characteristics but I had assumed most of these fish were wild as this pond I was fishing in connects up with a creek where I am assuming many of the fish in there came from. Perhaps a BGxCNBG?

male

male

female

This one had striking blues and aquas all around it's head

The distinct barring on the males leads me to believe they are at least partial CNBG

PS

It's hard to see in the pic, but you can see the tiny black plastic maggot jig in the upper left side of the bass's jaw I was using to catch the sunfish. It was on a 1/80th oz size 12 hook. The whole jig and bait can't be more than an inch and this bass inhaled it... Goes to show even bigger bass will eat small things.

Having caught the one nice bass while fishing for sunnies earlier, I went out this evening after bass. I caught 7 and lost another 4. The ones I caught were between 12"-20" and many were spitting out the BG they were eating. I caught them all on a bubble gum colored trick worm. Tons of fun! A few of the bass.

Not bad for a completely unmanaged pond!

My guess is that the top one weighed 4.75, and the bottom one weighed 4.0

george, I take it that is one of your grandsons. The resemblence to you is amazing.

Nice pics, CJ. Some skinny bass there for sure.

Bruce, are you doing any feed like AQ600 at that pond? If so, I've got to get down.

We went out to a very large and recently renovated and stocked local lake here in Omaha (Cunningham) to get the kids some fish. It's great for getting kids enthused about fishing. The fish are very young and small, but there's a ton of them and they hit everything you throw at them. So we were bringing in some bluegill and 20+ baby bullheads and the kids had a blast.

Oops. Forgot the camera. Seriously though, these bullheads were tiny. 4"-6", but you're right, I should have got some pics of the kid catching them. I'm sure we will revisit in the near future and I'll remember to bring the camera.

Are you going to say pictures or it didn't happen? \:D

Sunil, thanks for the compliment - good looks just run in the family ..
Son Stan’s nephew by marriage … great little kid.

Willim's dad spends a lot of time out of the country - mostly Paraguay and Argentina, which has world class trout fihing ... I had to give him a fly casting lesson to be prepared for his next trip ... \:\)

Eric, would have been if on our pond, but a 5-6 acre HOA pond is in the middle of the metromess surrounded by mega $$$ homes.

The pond is over populated with KOI and son Stan and I thought we could hook him up with one but a CC worked just fine.
Look at the smile on that kid’s face.

So my dad calls me up early Saturday morning and says that he just caught the biggest bluegill of his life. He was catfish fishing with Chicken Livers when the behemoth hit. He then in such a proud voice declared that they ran up and got a camera phone to take a pic and he caught another beast before they got back with the camera. So instead of taking a nice picture with the best bluegill he ever caught he naturally had to add the 10 incher in the pic. He was so proud that they even took 2 pictures and were figuring out how to email them over to me.

Anyhow when he said it was my older brother who took the pic, and he was holding 2 fish, I knew the pics were going to be pretty bad, but when they got the pics emailed over I didnt expect it to be this bad-

The big one was 12.75" and 1 lb-13 oz.
The small one was 10.25" and 1 lb- 2 oz.

My dad is a big 290 lb guy, the pics just dont do the fish justice.

They kept both fish in a big tub to get the pics and then let them go. Now my dad was caught up in the moment and excited, but does regret not keeping the big one to get mounted. I explained to him that is was just some form of hybrid (we have mistakenly put about 5 different variations of hybrid bluegill in the lake) and that we dont need that fish for genetics, just put it in the lake and then harvest it whenever you want.
