I am pretty proud of my new floating dock. It is 20x20' and is held in place by 2-5x14' gangways. The upper deck is 9x10' and hangs over the end 1 foot. Floats are from dockbuilders.com and are 16 inches tall around the outside, and 20 inches tall under the upper deck. Framing is 2x8's for the main deck and gangways and 2x6 for the top deck. Decking is Weatherbest. Still have to put a railing around 3 sides of the top, and have future plans for a water slide. Actually pretty simple to build, my guys and family put the whole thing together friday afternoon and all day saturday of Memorial Day weekend. I have some more pics of the different components during construction, but they are at my office.

Very sturdy looking, Nate. Still have to put a railing around 3 sides of the top, and have future plans for a water slide. How about bunk beds?

n8ly, Do you have any pictures of your floating dock with the railing on top? I really like your idea.

I bet a floating fishing house would be great for parking over a crappie hole. That is, if your pond has crappie in it. Or if you had a lake with them...

This video here shows the dock in action at our family reunion: Nates Dock in Action Its a slow 10 minute video, but here are the highlight: 6:31 an 82 year old man goes off the rope swing. 7:47 Nate attempts a back flip into a tube. 8:40 nose plant into tube. 9:15 a chunky romanian kid makes it through the tube.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
