If anyone saw the ad in the Dallas Morning News from a fish farm in Arkansas offering free fish and free delivery it is a scam. The person offering the fish got into a lot of trouble in Illinois for the same scam. Here is a link to an article http://dnr.state.il.us/pubaffairs/2007/May/ARKANSAS.HTML

from the linked article: LEWISTOWN, IL- An Arkansas man has avoided potential felony prosecution by pleading guilty to two Class A Misdemeanors in Fulton County court in Lewistown, Illinois.
A wee bit of coincidence as we spent alot of time working Fulton County for pond property. It is a hot bed for strip mine lakes. The topography is hilly and recreation property is abundant and selling like hotcakes. Ironically, we got real serious with a nice little 26 acre parcel with a nice little 1 ac pond that needed renovation...about 50 grand. I still think about it now and then, and the potential. near miss in Lewistown

saw the same ad, called them before reading this. As I work, and on PST, it was out of hours. I will report on their response to my "where/when do I come" call" (I am in north-central TX, to a trivial trip.) This ad also runs from time to time in Memphis. A similar ad has been running from time to time for about 15 years. Way back then, I actually called the guy, not knowing any better. He did not call me back when he had promised to do so. A few days later he finally called me back and I explained that, not having heard from him, I had ordered from someone else. He became very irate over the phone and hung up on me. Later, when I learned of his reputation, I felt lucky that I had avoided him. Some of the information in the Illinois article from the link above echoes my own limited experience associated with this ad.

Darrell, sounds like the same guy I ran into about 10 years ago. Especially, the irate part. He threatened me with dumping the fish at the front of my gate. He also promised me a good butt whuppin. However, he declined to set a time and date for either event.
I saw his ad in the Fort Worth Star Telegram about a month ago.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
