Geese is a expensive delicacy, we should treasure such luxuries of having the potential to feast on them.

When my pond first got going I allowed about 13 geese to settle in on my just over 1/4 acre pond and it took about two days for me to figure out they were not wanted and have ran them off ever since

Here at my place west of Seattle they first show up around early April in search for a home. There are usually ducks already on the pond so I try and do nothing that will also scare them.

Usually no more than 4 will show up at one time so I walk towards them and sting them with a bb gun. They get the hint and leave. After doing this a few times, they seem to keep the hint and not come back. If I see any coming in to land all I have to do is clap my hands loud and they will not land and move on.

After about the end of May they have settled in other areas and never try and come back till the following year.

I live in near downtown Phoenix with a man-made lake. The management company has purchased the fake coyotes and have placed them around the lake...do they work? No. Because if you don't move them regularly, the geese don't see them as a hazzard. If you have a chance to do this...run dogs through there on a regular basis to chase the geese away. If they are constantly being harassed, they won't feel welcomed to stay. The easier you make it for them, the more comfortable they become.
