I need to do some raking today and thought about tossing the stuff in my vegetable garden. Good or bad idea?

It can't hurt anything except your back. It is surprising how much volume reduction occur as it dries.

I seldom have FA. But, two days ago, mine looked just about like yours. This was after the pond suddenly dropped about 2-feet when the stand-pipe strainer unclogged.
Yesterday the FA turned mostly brown, and looked like a herd of cows had used the pond as a rest stop. Today it is completely clear.
Whenever I do get FA, it never gets much worse than what your picture shows. It almost always acts like it did this time, and disappears as fast as it appears.
Whatever happened, it again hasn't affected the fish. Last night, the bass and bluegill quickly gobbled a double helping of pellets. The fish certainly looked frisky this morning. Lots of really big bluegill on the nests, a few bass on nests too, and lots of cruising.
Don't strain your back.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Looks similar to a pond I delivered to last week before going to Pedro's slice of pond heaven!
