It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Thanks, all. We did have a lot of fun. We took "cleaner" pictures, but didn't realize until we had gone swimming that the camera had no card in it. Opps.
Can anyone verify that those are grass shrimp? I had never seen them before, they were in a puddle above both of my ponds, so I'm not quite sure how they got there.
Thanks!

Anyone help in the Grass Shrimp ID? They looked different than the ones I stocked a few weeks ago - mine were completely translucent and these are a really cool green. Whatever they are, they look like tasty morsels for your fish and are very cool looking!

Travis...can you help on this Shrimp ID? I'm really interested if you've come across these little beauties before.

Cool pics man. I cannot verify 100% that those are grass shrimp as they look slightly different then the ones I used to catch in the Chesapeake growing up. The Bay shrimp were the same size, had the exact same translucent body and dark eyes. However I never saw that green underside on any I ever caught. Did these guys have sharp spines coming off their head? Grass Shrimp Anyway I am 99% they are some variety of grass shrimp as the morphology and habitat look identical to the Bay grass shrimp. Probably some kind of sub-species.

ok, I should give a bit more detail. These pictures were taken with a macro lens. They are actually less than an inch long. I'll try to get some more pictures this weekend with a size reference. Thanks for the help, everyone.
