and why?
I am looking for the best performance with the least amount of maintenance.
The pond is .25 acres and varies in depth with the deepest part being about 15 feet.

I'm far from an expert, but every meister and biologist to whom I've spoken has recommended VERTEX from a performance and maintenance standpoint. Just thought I'd get you some immediate feedback.

I prefer the round membrane diffusers farther down the page vs. the stones. However one must have at least 1 cfm to make them work well I believe.

I seem to get a better boil and they are self cleaning.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

I prefer the round diffuser. Sends a broad column of bubbles creating more lift (in my opinion). Get a Vertex, very quiet and you can't beat the customer service.
