Our newly constructed pond has some new life to it, but not sure what it is. Any one seen eggs like this before?

Steve, you called them eggs. I assume that they were not moving? Try to scoop some up and get a closer photo.

The long string of black lines all close together is a great clue. Toads lay their eggs in long strings like that, much like yellow perch. When the tadpoles first hatch, they lay on the bottom for a day or two jut as in the picture. Nice documentation though!

Jeff, I did say eggs, but they were moving, so they had hatched, I was not aware that toads would lay their eggs in the water? Those that had not hatched yet were in a long long strand 3' foot long.

Yes, toads lay their eggs in water. Toads do lay long strands of eggs...

Those look a lot like toad tadpoles freshly hatched.
