It was nice and warm here in northern Indiana, the surface temp was 52-in the sun. I had some about 1/8'' pellets left over from last yr so decided to see if anything was hungry and put a half handfull in the feed circle at the end of the pier. In a short time there were several dozen FH and Bluntnose nibbling at the pellets. I laid on the pier for a close up view and noticed that about 6-8 FH had small, yellowish bumps on em. Mostly just one but a couple had 2or3 on all different parts of their bodies. They looked about like a pimple. Anyone seen or know what this is?

The bumps are either white or yellow grub and not transferred to the predator fish if the minnows get eaten. FHM were probably contaminated when you bought them, a common problem with wild raised FHM and sold by hatcheries.

Thanks Bill, knew you'd know. Anything to do? They all seemed pretty healthy and were as active as all the others.I'm all busy right now but will be sending ya a pm pretty soon. The pond and fish all seemed to have wintered well. The pond finally hit overflow a couple of weeks ago and does'nt seem to be loseing water as quickly as last yr. ALL the ground is very saturated so that may be some of it.
