I helped The Man re-rig the Mule for spring. Before: After: Now we need to clean it up. I can't put my feet on that dirty floor.

Tan
What a sweet rig. I've been trying to justify that expenditure for some time now...I'm still not there. Seeing your pics though...I can almost taste it! If Kawasaki or Polaris could just get the stock market to cooperate they could have my first payment by May!

That's good to hear - I've been researching for two years on UTV's and am down to the Mule and the Ranger XP 700. I have tons of near lethal experience with Kaw motorcycles and feel they are ultra dependable, but going 50 mph in a Ranger and jumping the pond has my attention in a big way! So far so good on your Polaris, Blair? I bought a polaris ranger xp last fall and these utv in general are great to have on a farm or acreage.

I bought a left over 08. I have about 70hrs on it and i think the front dif has a problem. In 4 way lock up in deep snow it makes a horiffic sound. I have to take it in for warranty on that. I put a winch, plow, windshield and seat covers on it. I am really happy with everything except for the dif problem ( maybe a weekness).

Thanks for the head's up. Can you get to 50 mph? Did you buy Polaris winch, plow etc. or some other after market source? Polaris stuff looks pretty expensive...

Hey Tan, I have a Mule that you would fall for and recently my son purchased a Polaris Ranger. He can outrun me but he can't go places I can go. MULES RULES! ......

I just bought an '08 Kawasaki Trans 3-10 Mule.
I bought an after-market roof and windshield. Right now, it's major usage is tooling around the new neighborhood collecting firewood and hauling the kids around, plus doing some off-roading as the neighborhood is only about 15% built.
It also functions to get my garbage from the house to the curb (this is one of the main reasons especially because I fell three times on ice taking garbage to the curb after the Superbowl).
I need to get a trailer now so I can haul it back & forth from my pond.

Ken, we're just collecting loose-debris type wood.
Is that a no-no in WV?

Is that a no-no in WV? In our county there were thefts of a number of firewood piles several years ago. We have a lot of secluded weekend homes in our area. Somebody decided that they were an easy place to get cut and split firewood. Those people needed Tan to protect their woodpiles. Ken

Well, it was Peroni, but yes, they tend to throw one off-balance.

All Mule owners;
When you are at the command of your Mule do your find yourself inexplicably motivated to run OVER obstacles as opposed to AROUND them? Seems like I would constantly be looking for the most challenging terrain or steepest way to get to point A to point B...taking the garbage to the curb could easily turn into a 30 minute offroad journey?

It all depends...(haaa)
If I have the kids (4 and 2 years old) in with me, I take it easy.
If not, I'm prone to see what the Mule's limitations are!

Tan: I know you will get a big kick out of this. We have a Maltese dog named Phoebe. I can barely get on the mule without Phoebe having a fit to go. She sits on the seat beside me. Last week Mrs. Bing took Phoebe on the mule and made a rather sudden left turn and Phoebe went flying off of the seat. Fortunately she landed, upside down, in a rather large pile of leaves. Mrs. B said the look on Phoebe's face was something like, "what in the ____ did you do that for".
Tan, If you had seen it I bet you would still be laughing. I know our cat "Tigger" is still enjoying the memory.

If a person came across PBF for the first time and read this topic do you think they would ever come back . Talking to a cat on a forum is a little out there.

Tan is napping so I will chime in. Doesn't everyone talk to their not human buddies? I may not be that good with people but I can strike up a conversation easily with everyone else, fish included! The Mule is a dependable useful unit that is a blast when it isn't working. I have used mine to pull my 5' x 10' sided trailer full of gravel (that will may her grunt). On the fun front, we put chairs in the box and in that same trailer and take a group on a pond tour and neighborhood cruise. No matter how fast you get her going across the water she won't float for long. Be careful out there!

Doesn't everyone talk to their not human buddies? Of course, we just don't all PM them.
