http://www.bigbluegill.com is going to be featured in an upcoming issue of In-Fisherman magazine. I'm not sure yet which issue, or when it will hit the newsstands.

What I'm hoping is that one of you (or any of the other talented writers on Pond Boss) will write up something really interesting on bluegill science, bluegill management, or bluegill fishing that could be a blog post that will appear right when the magazine comes out. The ideal length would actually be quite short. Maybe just 6-8 paragraphs. Within that blog I would like a link to appear to Pond Boss magazine and forums. This way we can get some instant exposure. Maybe the link should lead directly to the "Subscriptions" for the magazine, as opposed to the forum. I'd like to see if this gets a few new subscribers. Perhaps people who don't even know that the magazine exists.

Here's the new logo. Talented Pond Boss member AaronM put this together.

Way to go, guys! It is the best when your work is recognized, especially when you love your work.

Bruce you need to pick a topic you think would do best . I know we can cobble something good to use from here and get Bob and Bill to comment. Another idea is to get Dave Willis to call Rob Neumman (one of his students past) with In-Fisherman and inquire what they think on a topic.

Awesome idea, ewest. Dave Willis would get the attention of some of the readers from his name recognition, not to mention the fact that he writes a nice story. \:\)

Good morning, guys. I'll send an email to Rob later this weekend and see what he is thinking. I've got to go to graduation this morning.

By the way, any basketball fans here? Watch the two polls on Monday and Tuesday. I think you'll see the SDSU women in the top 25 for the first time ever in D-I basketball (we made the transition 5 years ago from D-II). We beat Minnesota and Gonzaga at their places this past week. Pretty cool. Don't ask about how the men have handled the transition, though. \:\)

How's that for hijacking a thread??

That was an excellent thread hijack, Dr. Dave. I would have been proud of that one myself.

Did I mention that the Husker women volleyball team made it to the elite-8 last night in Washington? \:\)

Yes, I did know that. And thank you so much for neglecting to mention that Nebraska took out our women's volleyball team in the first round of the NCAA playoffs last year in a complete and total demolition.

Now, now guys! That thread hijacking WAS smooth, but Dave, you lead off the hyjack with info pertaining to the original gist of the thread. Shouldn't it have been slyly added somewhere in the middle?

Nope! After re-reading the entire post, I think this hyjacking example should be archived for future referance.

Guess that's why you're the Proffesor!

Congratulations on that B Bluegill logo/mag, and all you talented enterprising guys on this forum and new technology. You are onto something really great, where you can combine something you love, with the American way, great interactions, and truly helpful to people seeking answers. Really it doesn't get much better than this!

Bruce, I saw some of the former Husker Heisman trophy winners tonight. From the way distant past. Ouch!

There were three of them actually.

One of them looked like he had just got done shopping at Goodwill.

OK, I heard back from Rob Neummann. The big bluegill "plug" will be in the February In-Fisherman, and they already have gone to press, so no room for an additional bluegill article.

Rainman, thanks for the compliment. However, it may just have been accidental smooth. Often, I can stop a thread! \:\)

Oops, the SDSU women (basketball) were number 26 in votes in both the AP and the ESPN polls this week. Darn. Welcome to the mid-majors, I guess.

CORRECTION: They were 26 in the AP poll, but 22 in the ESPN poll.
