Woke up yesterday morning and saw a huge otter having a good ole time swimming around the surface of my pond. My two Labs took off after the otter but couldn't catch up with him. probably a good thing. Must have come from Cooper Lake which about about a quarter mile away. Then tried the 22 Cal on him but not sure if I hit him or not but haven't seen him since. Worried about him eating my trophy bass and BGs. Anyone had any thing like this happen to them?

Not yet but they can eat a lot of fish. If one showed up he would be history ASAP. As small as my trout pond is I'd be in big trouble.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

The odds are against you having spotted him his first trip to your pond. I'll bet he has already been feasting.
I would look for sign & set traps now. Don't shoot unless you have a really good chance of taking him. Otherwise you're only educating him. And don't let your dogs get ahold of him, they might be successful but he can seriously tear them up before he submits.

Yes! My pond has been virtually wiped out by an Otter. I am still after him.

notice the snare in the pic, he has avoided ten different traps
