the title says it all really. I live just south of Dallas Tx, and have 3 forage ponds between 1/8-1/4 acre each.
I still have some work to do on two of them.
Im just wondering what the advantages and disadvantages if any there are for rushing to stock by Nov. Dec. or just wait untill spring.
I'll be raising CNBG in all of them.
Im not sure when Todd Overton opens up in the spring, maybe March, but as long as i catch the first spawn i might just as well wait.

I don't see much problem with stocking now, However, I also don't see an advantage.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Thanks for the kind words JHFV. We are open for fish delivery and pick up from now until around the end of June. You could stock now or wait until early March and stock 3-6" fish and they will be ready to spawn.
It's ALL about the fish!

I would think if you are buying by the # that your fish would grow over the winter in Tx so you would get 25-50% addition weight come spring for free, or almost free. Im guessing these are forage for catfish?
