hey guys, newbie here and i just got my 1 acre pond fixed to hold water. put the fish in last week and the pond is covered with little green seeds that are floating on top of the water. it has been like this for about 2 or 3 months. is there anyway to get rid of these seeds on top of the water or will the rain this fall wash them away. someone told me they might sink over time but im not sure about that, please help me out here guys

Hi kb3030, welcome to the forum.

I wonder if your seeds are actually watermeal which is the smallest flowering plant I believe. I have some photos of it in this thread: http://www.pondboss.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=97240&fpart=1

Sounds like watermeal to me. Whitecap or sonar would kill it.

Wait until next spring to apply it. you will need about 32 to 40 ounces to get rid of watermeal. Just put 8 oz in a 5 gallon bucket filled with water and pour around the pond. Definitely research the fluridone, though. It is not for every pond and has some irrigation restrictions.
