Hate to hear that, Newman was one of the best and one heck of a humanitarian. For years all the proceeds from his salad dressings went to charity.

What a life he had! Steak in the bedroom and race cars in the garage!
When Newman was asked if he'd ever been tempted to stray on his wife his reply was " When you have stealk at home, why go out for hamburger?"

"still shakin' it, boss."
Such an ultra liberal, and I never even knew or heard of it. Of course, he hated the hollywood lifestyle. I sure hope thay have a month long string of his movies on AMC or other.

He made some great movies, even if you don't agree with his politics. May he rest in peace
In Dog Beers, I've had one.

Wow the loss of a legend. Hate to hear that, Newman was one of the best and one heck of a humanitarian. For years all the proceeds from his salad dressings went to charity. Yep to the tune of over $250 million dollars. Let that number sink in for a minute. All because of the vision of one actor.

My Mom met him during the filming of Slap Shot -- which was filmed in my hometown (Johnstown PA). She says the same thing. BTW She got cast as one of the many extras in the movie to fill the seats during the hockey game shots.

Thanks for reminding us, JWHAP. What a great movie. That was the three real Hanson (or Hansen?) Bros.

He was a racer who supported his racing habit by acting. That's how he wanted to be remembered. Racer/actor Paul Leonard Newman.

I watched Cool Hand Luke in the hospital when my son was born, he will watch that movie with me when he gets older. Truly a loss of one of the finest actors of all time.

On another note I'll have to tell you guys sometime about my dad meeting John Wayne in Vietnam when he was working on the movie the Green Berets. Truly funny stuff! But I don't want to hijack this thread. RIP Paul!

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
