In a zero lot neighborhood, they have a community pond out front. Roughly 2/3 acre, looks to get about 10-12 ft deep at the center. I saw several small schools of BG and a half dozen Cats in the 18-24inch range. When I say I saw them, I mean at about four feet down! The water has a blueish tint but is clear as most swimming pools. Has a grass bank, circled by trees, A large fountain in the center, and some mossy looking growth under the water at spots around the bank. My buddy says the neighbors feed them constantly and he has pulled a couple nice size LMBs out of it.
HOW in the world with all those fish, all that feed, surrounded by trees, do they keep it that clear??

Jeff-

1 acre pond, slopes to 15ft depth. Has BG and few LMB plus a half dozen pesky sliders.

Sneak a bag of lime in there at night, maybe some fertilizer. Seriously though I have fished some waters like that, Northern Maine has water clarity in some lakes you can see 15 feet down. I used to fish Lake Simcoe in Ontario thru the ice and we used chartreuse jigs, all you had to do was stare down the hole in the ice and when the jig disappeared you had a bite. This was in 12 feet of water. How they could keep a pond that clear is beyond me, must not be any geese around.

Definately some kind of dye, I'm just used to the kind that makes the water opaque and blue. This just tinted it a little and left it clear. Made me kinda mad at my pond with only 12-14 inches of clarity.
