I just got my texas hunter feeder about a week ago and im extreamly happy with it. I do have a question though, I only have bluegill that eat at the feeder so it doesn't take much to feed them. I have the timer set on 1 Second and it seems like I could count to at least 5 by the time that 1 second is over. I was wondering if they all throw feed out for that long on 1 sec. It throws out alot of feed and its too much for the bluegill to eat. Can you adjust the spinner plate or something so it will throw out less or is something wrong with my timer that makes it stay on so long?

Try a reboot. The timer should have a master reset. If not, remove all power for a minute or so, Then set it up again; see what happens. If it still aint right, call them up.

I have a Texas Hunter feeder also. Mine does the same thing, but I feed for more then one second so it does not create a problem for me.

I have a Texas Hunter as well..the feed drops into a separate hopper..l seconds worth..and then it takes longer to throw the feed out...the one second setting of course is the minimum you can throw..I dont think you can adjust it to throw less...Call Texas Hunter to be sure...You just have to realize one seconds worth is actually a good amt of feed for a small body of water..

Next time you test the feeder open the side door and watch the top motor and see how long it spins. When you set the seconds you are basically setting the seconds the top motor is spinning. It should only spin for the amount of seconds that you set. The bottom motor should come on first to clean out the funnel, etc and then the top motor should come on for how ever long you set it and then it should stop. The bottom motor should continue to run for a few more seconds to clean out all the food that the top motor pulled out of the hopper. The top motor is where how much food is being thrown out is determined so that is the one that you are actually setting we you adjust the seconds. as for the bluegill in that pond, they should continue to feed more and more once they find the food. I know you have added more bluegill to teh pond so it should be just a matter of time. Also don't forget that bluegill are not going to travel far to feed, a bluegill on teh other side of the pond might not even know that feeder is there. It might also help if you can point the feeder to where the food that they do not consume immediately will drift throughout the pond. I have tested feeders before and then came back to the feeder 10 minutes later and had fish feeding on the food that drifted out to the middle of the pond

JHFV I got the feeder from Greg Grimes at lakework.com I try to buy most of my stuff from him if I can. There wasn't that much difference in price but he was a little cheaper. It is a great feeder. mmorgan, I built a platform for the feeder to bolt to right where we launched the boat when you came to shock the pond so if the winds right some days it drifts down the pond and if the wind is out of the north then it blows the feed back to the bank. I wanted to put the feeder where it would throw out over deeper water but they wouldn't ever come up anywhere else I tried to feed. They are coming up really good now. There was actually a couple of grass carp out there sunday. I haven't seen any of them since I stocked them. I added another 400 4-5" bream last week so maybe with them and all the others they can clean up all the feed.
