The birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
The trees are whistling for the dogs.
The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
Hot water now comes out of both taps. (SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUE!!!!)
Especially from the water hoses.
You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron....
The temperature drops below 95 and you feel a little chilly.
You discover that in August, it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car..
You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
You actually burn your hand opening the car door.
You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.
Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
The potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.
Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
The cows are giving evaporated milk.
Ah, what a place to call home...

Water temp again today was only 75. I don't bother with the ladder. I just jump in and get it over with. Man what a shock! I'm now 1.5 pounds from dropping below 160. That's my first goal.
I know I was in the 170's this winter. Anybody know if the cold water burns significantly more calories?
I am also raking weeds out of the trout pond once I'm done swimming so that probably helps too.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Unsure, but you WILL notice an immediate dramatic decrease in mass of some body parts.

Unsure, but you WILL notice an immediate dramatic decrease in mass of some body parts. What kind of mass Brettski? Muscle mass too? Trying to lose weight is new to me just like the need for glasses and the thinning of my hair. I guess age is finally catching up with me.

There has been research on the use of cold water bath that induce shivering as a way to burn calories. I read about back in the 90's when I pumped iron regularly. It required a deep uncomfortable kind of cold though, I doubt you are there yet Cecil.

It required a deep uncomfortable kind of cold though, I doubt you are there yet Cecil. Sure feels brutal the first minute or so! 23.6 degrees below body temperature. Enough to cause hypothermia if we were in long enough!

Here's a good one. Mobile homes get hot, danged hot. We usually wait for morning to go there so it can somewhat cool over night. If not, the mattresses are too hot to sleep on. Even then, when we get there in the summer, we pull back the bed spread when we turn on the window AC. We also close the door so the AC will cool the room and mattress.
About 3 weeks ago I went there after work. It was 109 (yep 109) outside and 101 (yep 101) inside. Just another day in Paradise. I turned on the AC's, got a beer and went back outside where there was a breeze blowing. Then I went back inside and did a few things. When I lit the hot water heater pilot light, the burner didn't come on. The water was already at the heated point. I've had this happen several times and wonder just why I live here. Of course, when you guys use terms like "ice out" I have no problem remembering.
It's also kinda dry around here.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

DD, same here. Went to play golf this morning after a slight misting of 3.5" rain last night and ALMOST grabbed my windbreaker. By 8:30, I am glad I left the jacket at home.
