Just read an article that said tilapia are worse for you than bacon. They said tilapia has more omega 6 than bacon and that ain't good. Man! Just about the time you think you have a grip on what to eat something else comes a long.
In Dog Beers, I've had one.

Heybud, This got me a little worried, so I tried to find some nutritional info on the two. Here is what I found: Tilapia:(84mg of Omega-6 per ounc(cooked, dry heat)) http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts/finfish-and-shellfish-products/9244/1Bacon:(1148mg of Omega-6 per ounce (pan-fried)) http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts/pork-products/7356/2I think we are safe .

So, Tilapia and Bacon pan fried together would then cancel each other out Omega-6-wise right? I recall eating popcorn that was popped with dry heat. That was a killer in it's own right taste-wise.

I fry my tilapia in bacon grease, and it's really good.
I wouldn't worry too much about the omega-6. It's "bad" now, but wait around and it will probably be on the "good" list.

There is an eatery south of Fort Worth that specializes in chicken fried bacon. Heart attack on a plate. Gotta admit, it sounds good.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

the people that are telling us Omega-6 is bad are the same people that said eggs are bad. Then they said just the yolks are bad. Now they say whole eggs are ok again.
They also said margarine is better than butter. Now, come to find out margarine has partially hydrogenated oils (trans fat) in it which is worse than whatever fat is in real butter.
Chocolate is good now. coffee is good in moderation. wine is the new super supplement also in moderation. Green tea is super good. Soy uesed to be the new super protien, it was in everything now we find out it is full of xenoestrogens which are bad.
I love watching the FDA flip flop around on nutrition fads.
