i caught a largemouth bass today that was 4 inches long, does anybody know the approx. age of this fish.i thought the bass had not spawned but based on this fish i'm sure they have spawned.my pond is very well managed with lots of minnows, bream of all sizes and shad.our temp's range from lows of 40's to high average now of low 60's.is it possible my bass spawned as early as december are early january based on i think this fish would be about 2-3 months old.thanks.

you might need bill cody, greg are bob to tackle this one.i would think this fish was spawned late late last year.i'm in louisiana and my fish have not spawned yet so i would think this would be a large fish to be born this year.a 4 inch bass, i would think even in your managed pond would be 3-4 months which would make this fish born about november are december.i would not think this would be normal.just my 2 cents maybe someone else can give better answer.

196lake - Your question is very similar to the one posted by rmedgar and discussed by several members back on February 25, 05 in the Questions and Observations heading under the topic of: 3" bass. Read it for more information that probably pertains to your situation.
