does anybody have an idea how long flathead minnows make it in a pond.my 1st pond(5 1/2 acres) is 3 1/2 years old and i was wondering if there would still have some in the lake.getting ready to connect another pond to larger lake and was thinking about throwing somw in due to we did not stock the new pond.thanks

What type of predators do you have in your pond? Minnows aren't very effective at escaping predation. My guess is that there aren't many if any left in your pond if you have a population of predator fish such as LMB. Maybe if you have a predator like HSB who prefers open water the minnows have a chance if they hide among shallow cover. Just my ideas, I'm definately not an expert... Yet! I'm sure others will share their experiences.
