Since there's been a couple of posts wondering how to post pic's I thought I'd put Wood's explaination of posting pic's here for reference. Wood Lunker Member # 349 Member Rated: posted November 16, 2003 08:05 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is how I did it.Have P.B. open on a new topic where you want to post your link. Go to www.photobucket.com start a new account, all they ask is a user name, password and e-mail address. They instantly send you an e-mail with operating instructions. You simply download your chosen pic to your photo album.Once you see your pic (in small) in your album, just click on it to enlarge. Right click and copy the URL from that photo. Now bring up P.B. again and click on the URL buttom next to the gremlins. Paste your URl here, remember to delete the "http" prefix because it's already there from copying. It will then ask for a title for your web page. This is where you type your photo name, i.e. My 14lb Rainbow. Ya right. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posts: 160 | From: Grande Prairie, Alberta | Registered: Dec 2002 | IP: Logged http://www.pondboss.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=19;t=000054

Ric, I may be wrong, but I believe this is a way to post a hyperlink to one's photos at a photo-website, not to actually have the image/pic appear in the message itself.

Step 1: Create Photobucket account as previously described.
Step 2: Browse the Photobucket album that you have created of various downloaded photo files.
Step 3: Left click "Img" file name. This will highlight for you.
Step 4: Cut this file name by holding control (ctrl) button down and then simultaneously press "C". This is first step of classic "cut and paste" technique.
Step 5: Start your Pond Boss post. When you're ready to add photo, then press image bar next to instant graemlins. Now press control (ctrl) button and simultaneously press "V" button. This is second step in "cut and paste" technique.
Step 6: Make sure that the http/ prefix has not been duplicated. Your post on "Post a Reply" will not look like a picture to you. Only after post is completed will the image automatically appear on the post.
Try it. It's not as daunting as it seems. It goes quicker every time.

By the way. This method is probably one of many ways to accomplish the same thing. I'm pretty computer illiterate. My method is probably akin to what my daughter does when I ask her to get me a Pepsi. She goes through every room in the house before she gets to the refrigerator.

Thanks Bruce for providing your picture posting details. Maybe I can get the nerve to try it.
Is photobucket absolutly free with No strings attached and no pop-up advertising or crap like that? That is why I have not tried to use Photobucket. Often nothing is free.

Bill, the photobucket is free to upload a few pictures. I think you can delete and add to keep under some minimum total file size. So far, they haven't solicited me for anything.
I tried the picture posting process, and it is quite simple. Uh oh! Look out.
But I did have to do some deleting of text as I described in my Pic Posting Experiment. Had to post some SMB pics.

For those interested here are some additional hints for posting pictures --
Bruce, when I followed the procedure, I could see an extre "" at the end.
When I deleted those extra IMGs, then it worked. It seems you have to delete those extra text "[IMG]"s to get it to work.
After clicking on the IMAGE bar, when the mini-pop up screen comes up, I'm just leaving the /http/ text that's already there, pasting in, and then hitting OK.
IMPORTANT NOTE Now, try this. When you create the file you may be asked at some point (before you create the photobucket file) to "size" the file. A good size is like 480 X 640 pixels. Somewhere in that neighborhood. This will make your picture viewable within one normal computer screen frame.

Here's a note from my brother, who is a top gun programmer. He researched the photobucket "risk", if you will, and replied as follows.
Bruce,
I see nothing to worry about (in terms of potential unwanted ads/popups, etc.). I read the privacy policy on their terms page (http://photobucket.com/terms.php) and saw nothing out of the norm. What kind of strings are you thinking of? Or are you just being extra cautious? Don’t they just give you a link to a photo?
Let me know if there is anything else.

...and you're right about the Img deletions, etc. I got a little disjointed when I was trying to explain what I was doing.

Attention photo posters!
I've figured out a lot easier way to do this.
Simply left click on the image file name on photo bucket website and cut/paste it into "Message" box on Pond Boss. Don't bother with clicking on the "Image" bar next to the graemlins. This way you don't have to screw around with deleting IMG's and stuff like that. The photo will pop right up. Photobucket people created this image address just for this purpose. Try it. It works like a dream.

BCF,
I hope you can make it REALLY simple. I'll give it a try. I think I suffer from the "id 10 t" error code.

BabyCornFarmer I did erase the picture. I kept getting an open file error message and I could not post until I erased it. Thanks for your help I think I can make it work now. I just changed the upper case IMG to lower case img. I will be going fishing today and hope to have a couple of pics to post.
