Can anyone kindly provide me with some names of reputable contractors in the northwest New Jersey area. (we are a couple of miles from Orange Co. NY) We are in the early stages of planning a new pond. The yellow pages have not been much help, and several of the local ponds I checked on were built many years ago. In addition, any other suggestions would be appreciated for a "first-timer" like me.

Check if you have a local State or US soil & water conservation district office near you. They should have names of pond builders in the area. They are not allowed to tell you their opinion who is the best or better ones. If you get a list ask for names of people who they have built a pond for. Check out the ponds that have been constructed talk to owners.
