It's been told to me that during the rare events of lunar eclipse, Green Sunfish are known to put down their arms (Death Ray) and hold hands while singing songs of distant planets and other universes. Then, eventually, they end up singing "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall."

All though this night does in fact have ceremonial significance to the GSA, the ceremony specifics are a closely guarded secret. I can tell you however that the use of attitude adjusting liquids and Pink Floyd's surrealistic music plays a prominent role in the ceremony.

The lunatic is on the grass.
The lunatic is on the grass.
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs.
Got to keep the loonies on the path.

The lunatic is in the hall.
The lunatics are in my hall.
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more.

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

The lunatic is in my head.
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane.
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Why is it that song just seems to speak to me???

I'll be sure and include you in all future Pink Floyd discusssions.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Ah yes, I was once an unwilling attendee at one of these ceremonies. As the anticipation built to a frenzied level, the whole thing was called off due to the GSA not being able to get the 8-Track player to work (this was in 2006).

LOL. \:\)

While RES are out terrorizing the planet, GS are dealing with a jammed 8-Track player.

You're sure you didn't mean:

Overhead the albatross
hangs motionless upon the air

And deep beneath the rolling waves
in labyrinths of coral caves

The echo of the distant tide
comes willowing across the sand

And everything is green
it's submarine.......

The event finally stops when both the GSF and RES in their utter ignorance realize that each and everyone of them is just - "Another Brick in the Wall".

Part I

Daddy's flown across the ocean
Leaving just a memory
Snapshot in the family album
Daddy what else did you leave for me?
Daddy, what'd'ja leave behind for me?!?
All in all it was just a brick in the wall.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.

Part II

We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

Bell on the door ring, come on in

Sit down in the chair, don't be afraid
Steaming towel wrapped around my face

I'm ashamed

Barney ties me to the chair
I can't see, I'm really scared
Floyd breathes hard, I hear a zip
(self moderated) pressed against my lips

I was shamed

I sense others in the room
Opie, Aunt Bea, I presume
They take turns, and cut me up
I die smothered in Andy's Clutch

I was shamed

Dwelling near the Dark Side of the Moon (some call it border land) I am ready to celebrate by embracing the Beer Fridge and having my first Corona since January 4th (day of the bone sawing)!

Is this a great solar system, or what?

I have no use for Cobain or Nirvana...
I just dig Black & White Floyd

All you destroy

This thread got me thinking about some of the concerts that I went to in my youth.

Best of the bunch? Had to be....

June 19, 1977

San Diego Sports Arena

A 19 year old JHAP in one of the first few rows....

My first concert was equally impressive.

The year: 1977

The scene: World of Fun, Kansas City, MO

The band:

Shorty you realize where that takes us. Right back to ray the source of light , energy and of life itself. Hey all this really was pond related after all. It seems the same things that make the pond go make us go too. \:\) -

JHAP, I was eight years old when you saw the lights at the Zep show in '77.

Just FYI if you didn't know, there's a live Led Zep release called "How the West Was Won." It is crushing. If you don't have it you're missing out. It's been out for a few years now. The live version of Immigrant Song is unreal. Three disc set.

Wow! It's another amazing Theo/Bruce coincidence. My first concert?

Joe Hamilton and Frank Reynolds.

I always wondered why the heck Joe Frank got to use his whole name, but somehow only rated a second in the name order.

It's kind like Theo, Bruce Condello and Cecil.
