50 years ago today at 6:45AM PST...
JHAP was released upon society.
My wife gave me a musical birthday card. When you open it George Thorough and the Destroyers belts out the following lyrics:
"On the day I was born, the nurses all gathered 'round
And they gazed in wide wonder, at the joy they had found
The head nurse spoke up, and she said leave this one alone
She could tell right away, that I was bad to the bone
The card is great. Since my wife is a NICU nurse, it makes us both laugh.
I have to say life is pretty good at 50. Very happy with where I am in life. Have a great wife, great family and of course some wonderful friends. Although I've only met one of the forum members (DIED) I kinda feel like we're one big family here. I sorta feel like I know many of you. I'd like to take a moment to be serious and say thanks to all my Pond Boss brethern for making me laugh, teaching me new things, and providing me inspiration. Last year was a tough year, but 2008 is gonna be great!
A special thanks to DIED and his wonderful wife Jean - your friendship means a lot to Ricki and I, we look forward to fun times this year.
Ok enough seriousness, gotta take a shower, comb the 17 remaining hairs on my head in a certain way to make it look like I have 29 of them, and go find some trouble.

Tom, once you adjust for PST and Southern California Attitude Adjustment Conversion I think I was posting at about 4:30AM.
My wife and I made an executive decision last night....
POND BOSS CONVENTION BAYYYYBEEE
So we are gonna make reservations for the Sheraton Arlington (I am assuming that is where most folks are gonna stay). Gotta make airline reservations and mail in the reservation card for two. For better or worse you'll be seeing me and my wife Ricki there.
Here's my plan, fly in Wednesday, goof off Thursday (anyone else there on Thursday?) stay until Monday morning. There has been some talk about a potential pond tour on Sunday???
Ok Heybud, you promised, so I better see ya there.
Oh and thanks for the link Brettski but I've decided to let nature take it's course. No toupee, no Rogain, no Hair Club For Men. Word of caution though if you're walking behind me on a sunny day ya might want to wear your sunglasses - the glare coming off the back of my head can get quite intense.

Thanks Ewest, I did have a great day. I look forward to meeting you and your wife at the conference. It's great being married to an RN isn't it? I can't tell you the number of times that my wife has patched up a boo-boo after I've done something.... well let's just say slightly less than intelligent.

Jeff,Im sure you're not insiuating that you have an attitude are you?With all the intelectual posts and unerring posts you are surely mistaken!Ill be looking forward to meeting you&Rikki at the convention,providing nothing comes up.(I had a couple of days of fishing planned this week-end and friday afternoon was informed school,2 days in austin which blew fishing out the window.)On the bright side though,Im already planning on shutting down my business that week end.

Jeff,Im sure you're not insiuating that you have an attitude are you? Everyone has an attitude, mine just happens to be good.  But if you're referring to a typical So Cal "I'm too sexy for this shirt" attitude then no. (I look more like an "after" photo anyway). With all the intelectual posts and unerring posts you are surely mistaken! I think you have me confused with another JHAP. Ill be looking forward to meeting you&Rikki at the convention,providing nothing comes up. We'll be there. She'll be the gal with the "deer caught in the headlights" look on her face. For some reason I have that effect on people.  Im already planning on shutting down my business that week end. That's what I'm talking about, a man with his priorities right! Close down the business, file for divorce, get a fake ID, steal a bicycle, hitch hike with strangers... Just do what ever it takes. The Pond Boss conference is gonna be one fun event.
