15 this morning, last week we've seen some minus 2's. This shouthern girl has had enough! \:\) Also, looking at putting geothermo in this year...anytime now. Cannot wait until it warms up so I can enjoy the pond again and watch the fish eat and feed. Not brave enought to do the ice-fishing thing. Oh well.

Man, is it ugly out there right now. It's 8 pm. It was 40 something degrees this morning. Now it's 8 and dropping. The wind gusts, predicted in the 40 - 50 range, are kickin' our arse. The house and windows on the western exposure are snappin, cracklin, and poppin.

I'm looking forward to things freezing up again. It's been a disgusting, slippery, muddy mess here the last two days.

Brett, we got that same wind yesterday. Forty mph gusting to 55 mph. Temp dropped from mid 60's to below freezing. More wind today but not as extreme.

-21 is beyond my comprehension. The coldest I remember around here is 6 below and it shut the area down.

It's a little known nautical fact that Davy Jones' mom invented the locker. She gave the orginal model to her son as a present.

Tom, for many years I have avoided asking just why people live in those places. Then, about August, I figure it out.

There is a study out there that says people that live in the upper Midwest and similar climes live longer because they are toughened by the extreme temperature variance. For instance, in 2007 our temperatures ranged from -24 to +106. 130 degree swing!

Saying people in the Midwest live longer is like saying married men live longer. Is it really longer or does it just seem longer

It was just a study by some unknown Conehead.

I noticed that your sentence ended without a period, as in not quite finished. Was you wife watching over your shoulder and whacked you with a board?

Get her a new stainless steel side by side or up by down whatever fridge. That way you get the old one. It is cheaper to have the old one running with beer in the shop than it is to have it hauled away. It has worked for me 3 times now.

Actually it is more about the beer fridge dying and needing replacement than the rest. The first approach not only keeps you in a better class of beer fridge, but you wife will think you are such a nice man, always buying her new appliances.
How
I may put this in my new book, "Successful Marriage, Money is No Object". \:D

Dwight, if needed for your book, please use my quote from another thread:

"Furthermore, it is highly encouraged that,.......for each dollar spent on the pond(s), an equal or greater amount of dollars is spent on spousal interests including, but not limited to, horses and/or ponies, cruises, unnecessary vacations, multiple visits to the spa, and last but not least, circle hooks."

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:"

Justifying a beer fridge is easy. Just load the existing one up with beer. Then tell the wife that she will need to get another one for the non essentials.
