I've seen a lot of posts stating blue gill spawn at 3", so...what size are bass when they first spawn in a Southern climate with ample forage ?

Eastland, I'm from the north but approx. 10-12" LMB start to spawn in my area.

Rowly,
My 8 to 9-inch LM bass are currently staking out and protecting shallow water areas in what appears to be pre-spawn behavior, which surprises me. I thought that it would be one more year before they spawned. They won't even rise for pellets.
