Are they less agressive than largemouth bass if there are no largemouth bass present?

How much reproduction do you get in your pond of smallmouth bass?
Are they pellet trained and if so do they stay on pellets?

How do you think cohabitation of smallmouth bass in a pond with male only bluegill and female only yellow perch would work?

I'm thinking of not only of having bluegills and yellow perch in cages in a pond (been there done that with success and still doing it), but releasing the larger male bluegills and larger female perch ito the same pond with the smallmouth minus any largemouth bass. There would be NO largemouth bass as I have had in the post. Smallmouth are pellet trained.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Cecil will there be any natural food like FHs ? One concern would be pellets 100% as the only food source if they will be there long term. Many of the studies indicate the need for food sources over the long term in addition to standard pellets for predator fish (other than grazers like tilapia , carp and CC ).

Yes most likely some fatheads will make it downstream from an upstream pond where they are prolific.

Crayfish, frogs and "bugs" ("others")should be present in your pond in numbers relative to the numbers of bass present. The more the bass eat pellets the more "others" you will have present. However, 30 larger SMB in a 3/4 ac pond should keep the "others" pretty well thinned down; still present but scarse.
