Those are scary looking. I drove under one of those once and it was pretty much pitch black there, except for all the lightning. Nasty thunderstorm.

That's called a "beaver tail" and is usually associated with severe weather and many tornado's.

Thanks for sharing those pictures. Around here when we see a cloud like that we're most worried that it might turn on it's side.

5-6-75, I was working in the Omaha-Lincoln Nebraska area. Those photos remind me of what the sky looked like as I was headed back toward Omaha. I believe it was an F4 tornado that came out of a wall cloud like that. I ended up staying in Lincoln after hearing on the radio about what had happened. The next day I drove through Omaha on I-80 and it was a major disaster area. The devastation is imbedded in my mind to this day. It was also the first and last time I stayed in a Motel 6. If you wanted to watch TV (black & white) you had to put a quarter in the box on the wall

You and I were in Lincoln at the same time. I was 11 years old and playing football in the backyard of my cousin's house. Beautiful evening. Big, big clouds to the east. I remember that it was about thirty degrees cooler than it had been earlier in the day.
