Is that for real? Or is someone playing with Photoshop?

Sorry guys but this huge pig was called Fred: Fred was raised as a family pet. He grew up in the Alabama hill country on the farm of Phil and Rhonda Blissitt. Phil had given Fred to his wife for a Christmas present, and he was fed and pampered as a dog or cat would be. But Fred wasn't a dog or cat. He was a domestic pig, and when he grew up, the Blissitts, whom Fred had learned to think of as his family, sold him to the Lost Creek Plantation, a nearby "hunting preserve." read the full story here: http://www.hsus.org/wildlife/wildlife_news/monster_pig_canned_hunt.html Sad ending as far as I am concern...

M. Paris, I had seen this on the Today Show this morning and thought the same as you did, very sad ending. This is why people need to be aware of these canned hunts and make sure if they have to sell a family pet they do not end up there. I do wonder though if the Blissitts knew where he was going and if they had gotten a large price as well.

A sad end indeed, but if we sell Spot or Mittens to a pet food manufacturer, shouldn't we expect that pet to end up canned or bagged?

Don't want to open up the hunting "can of worms" again, but IMHO, the losers that ambush these pets are disgusting. Kinda like that flamin' piece of crap that shot the caged bear. Have a nice day.
Just do it...

I can not believe you actually believe anything from a HSUS site. These people are more disguisting than anything this kid did. They spent millions of dollars every year in attemtps to stop legit hunting in this country. Much of the money is form folks who think they are giving to local hunane society. They not at all are assoc with our local hunane society.
I do not kow the truth on what happened to this hog. BUT believe this site, come on guys. THis is just one spin on the story. I hope we findout the truth but doubt aything and everything HSus site proclaims!

You speak the truth Greg. But don't for a munute think HSUS will stop at banning hunting. First on their list is trapping, then hunting & fishing will be next. They have already proven that fish feel pain & suffer when caught by fishermen. Any info I find HSUS as the source of is consumed with a large dose of skepticism.
