I WAS BOARD SO I THOUGHT I WOULD SEE IF I COULD TAKE A BULLHEAD FROM MY POND TO MY HOME IN OHIO FOR MY BACKYARD WATER GARDEN. THINKING THAT IT WOULD MOST LIKLY NOT SURVIVE THE 12 HOUR CAR TRIP I DECIDE TO TAKE FOUR IN HOPES ONE WOULD MAKE IT BACK ALIVE. I RINSED OUT AN ANITFREEZE JUG PUT 4 FINGERLING SIZE BULLHEAD IN IT CLOSED THE LID AND 24 HOURS LATER WHEN WE GOT HOME ALL 4 WERE ALIVE. I ENDED UP PUTTING THEM ALL IN A 29 GALLON AQUARIUM. ITS BEEN 2 MONTHS AND ALL 4 ARE STILL ALIVE. THIS JUST PROVES THAT THESE ARE SOME VERY HARDY FISH. NO WONDER NO ONE WANTS THEM IN THERE PONDS. THEY JUST DON'T DIE SO YOU CAN'T GET RID OF THEM IF THEY OVER-POPULATE.. HECK I'VE BOUGHT FISH FROM PETSTORES AND HAD THEM DIE BEFORE THE 20 MINUTE RIDE HOME.

I've had bullheads be alive 24hours after I threw them up on shore. Granted, they may have been brain damaged (I didn't have my pisca-IQ tests on hand to verify).
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

If those had been the first 4 BH brought into Ohio, Damone, it would have been a hanging offense.

Freeze them solid and once back in water for a few hours, they are good as new and swim away.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
