I know we have talked about this a few times, but my wife keeps asking me what I need for Christmas and I am looking for ideas. What’s your favorite PB tool/item/toy?
I got to say that my most used item has been a pair of hip boots. I use mine all the time, seems like everything I need to reach is just far enough in the pond to get wet without the boots.

Alligator, my folks most favorite pond toy has to be their spotting scope for watching waterfowl on the pond from inside the house. My favorite pond toy has got to be my old jon boat.

The aquaview camera's are pretty cool, but you must have patience (which is on short supply with most of us).

cheap fly rod and reel.
However, I'm going to ask Santa for patience.

I don't even have the slightest idea what patience is. At this time of my life it's still something I equate with boredom. Some people can sit still for hours while hunkered down in a deer blind. They are usually successful hunters. I go looking for the deer and keep them moving around.
Dan, hip boots are always somewhere else when you really need them. Even if you had some, they wouldn't keep your private parts either warm or dry. Those things give an unwarranted feeling of security.

I gotta go with Shorty's folks, my binoculars, smaller pond, are always within arms reach when I am in the house, next is the digital camera with the 12x lens. Patience is not my problem, it waiting. I really need broadband.
Okay Brettski, I give up. I know what it is intended for but what are you going to do with it?

My favorite gadget is also very inexpensive...the digital kitchen scale that Bz mentioned is really a great pond gift, very useful.
But my single most favorite pond item is a 3 wt fly rod custom tied for me recently by a good friend. Cost under $200 but what a wonderful tool for catching those lunker CNBG, Tilapia, and soon lunker TGG's.

A floating island would be at the top of my list to Santa. Some fisheries also sell a Ph meter.

You didn't say how much or what it's for, so I'm gonna just through some thoughts out.
A good quality digital camera. My wife just got the Cannon S2 with a 12x optical zoom. It's by far the best camera I've seen!!!
A small paddle boat. Mine is a 10 foot plastic one with a V-tri hull. It's easy to pullout, is very stable and can handle a 5hp motor. I have the motor, but we always have a blast just paddleing around in it. Spring time is probably the best because the kids go crazy with fun trying to catch tadpoles.
A good weed eater with interchangable heads. Once or twice a year I put my hedge trimmer on mine to get the bigger stuff down. I also have a metal blade for the thicker stuff.
One of those floating trampolines!!! Or just about any type of floating raft to play on.
Ducks.
More fish.
Centapede grass seed. It grows super slow, but very thick and green. I want to plant it around my shoreline to cut down on mowing. Eventually it will take over bermuda, but that's gonna be several years.
Picnic table, bench, gazebo, fire ring and/or a bar-b-q grill on a level concrete pad.
Outdoor lighting.
Wood duck boxes.
Automatic fish feeder.
Game cam to take pictures of animals that come to use the pond. I'm dying to see a deer or some hogs drinking from my pond.
A fish cleaning station.
Merry Christmas, Eddie

...you missed one, Eddie. Add one pond and you have heaven on earth. Good list, man. You must be very tight with Santa.

A finshed pond was at the top of my list. Check! 8-10" of rain between now and March to fill it up. Lots of plump little fish to stock it. A floating wharf. That'll come next spring. Much of what Eddie listed. I don't need an automatic fish feeder, because I are 1. Merry Christmas!
