I have about 20 car tires that I'm going to add to help with channel cat spawning. I plan to drill holes to help keep them down, but can't decide on how to configure the tires.
Would it be most efficient to spread the tires out by themselves or would a few multi-tire configurations work better?
I may do a little of both. What would be the best configuration for the single tires (flat or vertical) and what is the best multi-tire configuration?

Will catfish use auto tires to spawn? It appears to me that they might be too small for a larger female to use. I've used old tractor tires but have no idea whether they were used. Anybody have any experience with this?
I've used 6 inch or greater PVC with the end capped and a piece of cut out disk stuffed over the open end to keep it higher than the bottom. Come to think of it, I don't know whether the cats used the PVC. Successful CC recruitment is so unusual that I've given up on it.

Have used 55gal drum for catfish breeding. Cut half of one end out--drill holes--fill with gravel about 10 gal--sink in shallow end of pond. Have had success in larg pond--18ac.
