The only other forum that I frequent has been discontinued for inappropriate posts. Read the following page:

http://www.ngpc.state.ne.us/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=013649

This is a forum that many people have expended countless hours in fun, fellowship, meeting new friends and the dissemination of information. Now it's gone because a few people abused it. Nebraska's long time forum is gone forever.

I feel fortunate to have a group of pondmeisters that are good natured, honest, committed so this forum continues to thrive. Let's continue the great work, but keep in mind the failures of others.

Thanks, people!

Yep, we don't need any contentious political threads that get out of hand on PB. ;\)

I too will miss the NGPC forum, it made me realize that there was so much more to fishing than just chasing those big green carp all of the time. \:\(

I never posted at the NGPC forum, but I read a fair amount of good fishing info there in the last couple of years. Darn shame.

If it helps any, I husked (sweet) corn this week.

Bruce, Theo, did either of you see this picture that was posted on the NGPC forum last week? A 12" and 2lbs. sunfish from a NE farm pond. My question is this a BG or a HBG? Go to this link and click on the picure for a larger view.

http://www.ngpc.state.ne.us/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=013612;p=1

I am sure going to miss seeing pictures of nice fish like this over there.

I had not seen that photo. Too bad they covered up the mouth. It's hard to tell what it really is. As much as I like the NGPC site, I would miss this one so much more because the NGPC site had a lot more conflicts--some of them angry. There were also some people who were just there to cause a stir and never contributed anything positive.

Thankfully, moderating on this site has gotten boring. Thanks to all.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I have to wonder if the your State Fish a Game department did not use the bad behavior of a few to get out of hosting the site. If a site wants to, there are easy ways to deal with bad behavior. It's as simple as banning those that behave poorly.

Many State Fish and Game departments are short on funds, and are looking for ways to cut back, or simply trim things some bean counter thinks is not necessary.

Sorry for sounding cyncial but it sounds like a cop out to me.

BTW Bruce the owl decoys are on the way tomorrow.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Well, I've never posted on either site, but I've thoroughly enjoyed both. I'm sorry to see it go, but will take this opportunity to say hey to you guys. I love your site and the forum. Everything is top notch. I don't have a pond, but this forum has me just absolutely frothing at the mouth about getting one. Some day. Anyway, you moderator types are awesome and your knowledge is unbelievable. Great site. Glad I found it.

Nice BG in the NGPC pic. I don't see any hybrid looking traits, but I wish the mouth showed better - it looks very large.

I couldn't help but thinking that the BG would have better shoulders and a helmet if Bruce had grown it.
