We built our new pond this year and are going to use it for swimming and will later stock it. How do you know if the water is safe for swimming?

My county health department will test pond water for $10-$20. This is basically the same tests they run at the public beaches. If there is a reason to expect coliform contamination, you will need to test on a regular basis.
