I know this is probable a repeat of 1000s of questions all the same but here goes...

I have three things wrong with my pond...

1-duckweed
2-coontail
3-F. Alge

I tired the weedtrine and cutrine route...failed (probably my fault)

the pond is about 4 acres and average depth is 6-7 feet.

I have started to consider aeration and or fountain...withh this help with the weeds?
(also looks nice)
I am new owner of a pond and have no idea what to do...the local biologist suggested sonar but damn thats expensive!!! I dont really fish! I just want it to look nice \:\)

Thanks for any advice
Mark

the cutrineplus should have worked on the algae, i am guessing it is the floating, or scum type. it is not a aquatic weed treatment as much, i got some good advice on this from kelly duffie, i use aquathol on the coontail, great success, i do not have aeration but that is my long term project, i am not an expert like a lot of contributors . there are others that can add and give more details on aeration, talipia, (my next project for 2006. ) good luck david903

Grass carp (white amur) will help with the weeeds and Tipalia will attack the algae. I've found them to be a good combination that can reduce the dependence on chemicals for treatment.
