My best fishing buddy and I went fishing Saturday morning. We started at 6am and by 7:30am we had only caught about 12 bass that weighed .5 lb. It is very unusual to catch this small of a bass in my pond. Then from 7:30am till 9:30am we caught 50+ bass weighing from 2lbs - 5.5lbs. It was very strange how the big fish just turned on like that. It was practically a fish every cast. We were fishing the same areas, same baits, no change in weather.

Not sure if I'm correct by this but I 'think' that bass sometimes have similiar behavior during prespawn and post-spawn. Cant be sure of this though. Which would mean that fish would be frequently moving from shallow to deep and then back again throughout the day. Maybe you just hit the time whenever the big ones came up. Who knows.... bass are some of the most unpredictable creatures on this earth.

It was just a weird trip. My fish have always bit better the first two hours of daylight than any other time. Also all these fish were in 12" of water. We tried brush top is deeper water and caught nothing.
