Hey Gang,
First post here. I'm doing some homework on building a small pond on my property. I have had one contrator to quote me a price. Anybody have have info on pond builders working the Augusta, Georgia area? I actually live south of Augusta, in Hephzibah. Pond size will be around .75 acres. Thanks for any help.

I had the NRCS out here already. They did offer me the list. They will not advise which contractor to use or stay away from. I asked them the criteria to get on their list. They told me to come in their office and say "I build ponds" put me on the list. That is too bad, the bad guys should be weeded out. I tried unsuccesfully to "word" my questions different on the contractors, but they wouldn't comment on any contractor.

got love the government their just so helpfull. well at least they gave ya a list, someone copyed from phone book lol. anyways a pond is a very expensive project. i would call contractors , ask for references on ponds made, go to the sites ,talk to the owners and see the work done.you want to see more than a couple by the contractor. if he does great work , he should be happy to supply some sites. as always get a written contract on the work to be done. do plenty of research on building ponds , the Pond Boss mag just had great stuff on building in the last couple issues. good luck \:\)

i only wanted to have some fun
