I'm sure glad I have my own ponds for recreation! Today is the first really nice day we have had this, year and the boaters and anglers are out in droves. Boat ramps full, jet skiers galore and speed boats going in all directions.
Nothing against these folks but the quality of recreation has gone down in recent years on these lakes in my opinion as the amount of use goes up. The amount of use conflict goes up too.
I must be getting old but fishing on the my private pond sure beats fishing somewhere that sounds like the Indy 500.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Around here most of the lakes, including lake Michigan, have advisories against eating the fish in any quantity due to polution. I stocked my pond so I could catch a few and eat fish that were grown in pure clean water.
Another bonus to the private pond.
