Robert -- I am a "second generation" SIU product. My advisor at Colorado State (Steve Flickinger) was a great, practical SIU product. Lots of good folks went to school there, and one of my students (Rob Neumann) just got hired as a professor there! It's a small profession.

I had a choice between SIU and Stevens Point in WI. I fell in love with the fishing and diversity of animal life there. Sure do miss it.

Robert B:
Thanks for your note on the Mink.
I live around 100 miles north of Carbondale. Great fishing in that area though, Little Grassy, Rend Lake, Lake of Egypt, Kincaid (little Table Rock,)etc.
I am an EIU (Eastern Illinois University) grad myself.
Go Panthers,
Bing

I first learned about this site this morning from someone over on crappie.com when I asked for advice on building a pond.
David: Do you know Jeff Stewart or ___ Henry. I think Jeff may be a professor and ___ (friend's son) is completing his PhD? Both in fisheries I believe. Friend referred me to contact Jeff regarding a possible fishing trip to the Amazon in Peru.
Bing: I live about 115 miles north of Carbondale and am also an EIU grad.
