So my feeder stopped working and I got a new battery first. Went to test it and the top spinner plate comes on and drops food into the hopper but the lower motor will not come on to throw the feed out. I took it apart and cleaned it really well and tried again, same thing. Then I tested the lower motor using the "reverse polarity test" by that the company says to use on the website and confirmed that the motor is good. Does this mean I need a new timer? It seems to be just fine otherwise. I tried calling them but not open today. I figured someone here has probably had the same issue. Thanks

No clue what's happening, but did you test the lower motor mounted or unmounted? Can you easily spin the lower slinger both ways with your finger?

both and yes, it works when I switch the wires on the battery terminals from website:

Q: What happens if the wires from the Texas Hunter Timer to the battery are hooked up backwards?
A: This is referred to as reverse polarity. Texas Hunter designed the Premium Timer to use reverse polarity as a motor test feature. If you have a situation where your feeder is not running at all, simply reverse the wires to the positive and negative battery terminals. If the motors run then you know that your battery and motors are operating properly.

I am assuming it is a problem with the timer, which is less than 3 years old so I am hoping it is under warranty. I was really hoping it was something more simple...

If it was me, I'd wait a day or two and get with TH.

This page has the "limited" warranty, and it's 5 years on the timers. Let us know how it goes.
