Here's one for you all.... Caught a few of my shrimp and noticed this funny stuff all over them (it was on my thermometer and ropes as well, so I doubt it parasitic). I'm guessing the blue color is from the aquashade I added. My guess is it's insect eggs? If so, they should apparently be of no concern as they'll be gone when the shrimp molts. Here's one of the shrimp

My guess would be a young clam? The investment in a compound microscope would be a good idea for anyone raising fish. What kind of market do you have for the shrimp? I know that they are doing some work with growing the shrimp out in Southern Illinois and having a shrimp boil festival with the locals getting involved in the harvest. Search through the campus website for the aquaculture department. Dr. Chris Kohler would be a good contact. Robert B
