Hello, North Texas Small pond (1/4 acre- 12' deep) owner and PB member here. Built in summer of '19, added 4 fish structures and 6# of FHM in Nov '19, added another 6# of FHM and 100 3" HBG in May '20, another 6# FHM and 50 3" LMB and 100 6" CC in Nov '20. I have an aerator running 6 hours/day and hand feed ~22 oz of Cargill Triton every evening but I only see the HBG (now ~8") coming up to eat. I have a few uninvited GSF and a few Bullhead, but they are unwillingly being removed as I get time. Water temp is now up to 68 (floating gauge at end of dock), ph/ammonia/nitrite/phosphates are all normal. My question to the community is whether or not I'm seeing too much algae? See Pic. I don't recall this much algae this early last year, so if I have an issue, I want to get out in front of it.
As always, I appreciate your opinions.
p.s. - I soldered a cross bar on my fishing hook and it's working great to cull out the GSF with risking stomach hooks on the HBG. See Pic 2.
