I have a question about transplanting pencil reeds. Is it even possible? I want to have reeds close to where I will be putting in my dock.. Can you dig some up with roots and place them somewhere else? Do they just appear ? Or do I have to buy some to get them started? Thanks

I've done this at my pond - I had some reeds at a creek on a different property and I just dug them up and transplanted them. Worked fine. Just make sure you put them approximately the same distance from their water source, in other words similar moisture content as where you got them from.
