Well I’ve got a top water algae problem. It’s a very thin floating green algae. My pond is about 1/2 acre in size. This algae is green and when the wind blows it’ll all gather to one side depending on the direction the wind is blowing. What should I use to treat it. Any help would be great.

I think we all get it on our ponds at one time or another. Biggest concern is if it's blue green algae. The best way to determine that is to collect some of it in a jar. Seal it up for a couple hours then smell it. If it's got a fowl, almost acidic smell, its blue green. You can treat it with an algaecide. Let the wind concentrate it to one area and spray sparingly. It doesn't take much. You should see results rather quickly. Be cautious tho, as the algaecide will reduce O2 in the immediate area sprayed.
If it doesn't smell rank, I'd let it be. It'll go through it's cycle and die off. Just looks unsightly. I'm no expert by any means, but that's my understanding. If I've got it wrong, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will correct me.
