I have thrown some food by hand a few times so far this year. Today was the first activity! So exciting to see. I did not check water temps, but today was cloudy with drizzle all day. Yesterday was mostly sunny, but nothing doing with the feed. I did have a skim of ice in the shallows most of the day on Sunday, but the peepers were going by late afternoon.

Feeding time is my favorite time of day, I get to decompress, look at the water and all the life in and around the pond and spend some time enjoying this labor of love. I am happy knowing that very soon it will be an everyday thing.

Count me in. I'm not even home yet but been thinking about getting my daughter to order me some feed so I will have it when I get there.

Going to try to get my SMB that I stocked last December on feed. They were on feed from Hartley's.

Mine are feeding here in SW Missouri. I threw some out about a week ago and was surprised they came up. They are moving pretty good now. I don't have a water temp. I know they will get more aggressive as things warm up.

My BG that are remaining have been feeding off and on for several weeks. After a couple of warm windy days, they will feed vigorously. Since the rain, I have been feeding them a little almost every day.

I turned the feeder off around Thanksgiving. I recently threw a few handfuls of feed just to see what the fish would do. They hit it very aggressively. Then, this past week we had right at 11" of rain in 8 days. The siphon worked overtime to get the pond back to normal level, but the water is muddy and turbid...and that killed the feeding. Will introduce new feed in a few days after a trip to Overton's tomorrow. Hopefully, things will get back to normal soon.

...when in doubt...set the hook...
