I have drilled a 4" well for my pond and the well driller is asking me what kind of submersible pump to install!
Do I get a 1hp pump that runs often?
Do I get a 3hp pump that puts out more?
Do I get a 2no pump that's in between?
I have no idea😨
Pond is 3.9 Acre feet if my calculation is right
Length 180'× with 100'
Average depth 12' and that's the whole thing we just dug it.
I will put it on a float system to keep pond where desired any help or experience w will be greatly appreciated!

I would ask the well digger what the well will be capable of producing as my first stop. Won't do you any good to put in a pump that is bigger if the well can't keep up. FWIW I have a 1.5 HP constant pressure pump in my 5 inch well (230 feet deep) and it produces roughly 35 GPM. IMHO That should be plenty for your use as well unless your pond has a huge leak!
The constant pressure pumps run only as fast as the water demand requires and still maintain pressure. No big pressure tank.
