Going to start my 3\4 acres pond hopefully by end of month! Getting More excited every time I go look at the layout! I had additional test hole's dug and there is enough clay surrounding the pond to let the dirt guy male the liner close to 2 ft in clay. This is good news for me as the particular area is mostly drainage dirt\sand!will create updates as well as the layout for you guys later

Never too early to start thinking about any structure, dock, etc you might be wanting to put in the pond. Time sneaks up on you and some things I did after the pond had some water in it would have been easier had I thought about and started on the project early enough. I did get most of my structure in place and got my dock started, but had to finish the dock in the water. Would have been easier had I been able to complete the dock before the pond was full.

And cover for the fish in the pond too. Easier to place it when the pond is dry.

Great advice snrub! Im debating on a permanent dock or floater. I like the idea of a permanent dock with telephone pole or treated fence posts , maybe even metal posts. I wonder if it would create a leak if u could drill holes and cement the posts then complete the deck once u reach full pool. How deep is deep enough for poles??
