I have narrowed this plant down to Sago Pondweed.
Any one have experience with this plant? It just showed up in out pond last year and I pulled it out but this year it is there again. It is bigger but in the same spot.
This plant dose not seam to be really aggressive but I am not 100% sure it is ok to have in the pond.
Cheers Don.

Don,
Did you intend to post a photo? If so, it's not showing up for me.

Nothing? I am guessing this is not a big deal. All water plants are evasive I guess.

Just wondering if I should pull this plant out of our pond or just leave it?
Sago pond weed. It is the only plant in our pond other than the lilys we planted.
Cheers Don.

Don, I sure can't answer your question, but here is a little info I found from Texas A & M site: Sago pondweed can be removed by raking or seining it from the pond but will reestablish from any remaining roots and seeds. Fertilization to produce a phytoplankton or algal “bloom” prevents the establishment of most bottom rooted aquatic weeds and produces a strong food chain to the pond fish. http://aquaplant.tamu.edu/management-options/sago-pondweed/Gary

Thanks Gary. I was not sure if I should remove it or just leave it.
The pond was dug the summer of 2012 and this is our first plant to show up.

My pond was dug just last summer and so far the only plants that I have had show up so far is cattails (which I have been removing by hand)

We have been lucky with the cat tails. There are some about 50 feet away in the creek but nothing showing up in the pond yet.
