I got some sunfish fingerlings and they couldn't get the larger size on these guys so I said smaller was fine not really thinking too much. So I got 1-2" sunfish rather than the 2-3". Well the 1-2" look about like fatheads and I just realized I bought a bunch of high priced snacks (not that 2-3" would have been that much better thinking about it).
Anyhow, is there anything I can do to give these guys a fighting chance? I tossed them into an IBC (big plastic container) to try and figure out a plan.
I'm assuming I can cage them (problem being I need to get a cage) or I can try to keep em alive in my IBC for a while but they don't seem to like fish food. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes look up habituation and blocking nets on a search. Two possible ways . Also if you put them in the pond put them in very thick cover .
